Report: Leeds reject £25m bid for Jack Harrison from Newcastle

Leeds United have rejected a £25 million bid for Jack Harrison from Newcastle United, that the Whites want considerably more for the winger.

Signing Harrison appears to be something of a priority for the Magpies in the final weeks of the window. Of course, Eddie Howe is yet to make an attacking signing during the summer.

Reports on Thursday claimed that Newcastle believe that they can tempt Harrison to St James’ Park. Meanwhile, Leeds had snubbed a £17 million offer from Tyneside for the 25-year-old.

It seems that the Magpies have now made a much larger bid for Harrison. , Leeds have rejected a £25 million offer for the former Manchester City star.

It is suggested that Jesse Marsch’s men want considerably more for the wide-man. Previous reports have noted that the asking price is at least £35 million.

Ominous signs for Leeds as Newcastle make £25m bid for Harrison

Leeds will hope that they can stave off interest and keep Harrison in the ranks. Should he leave, the Whites will have lost their two best players, as well as their two top goalscorers from last season – with Raphinha ticking both boxes.

Harrison was labelled ‘‘ by Kalvin Phillips at the end of last season. And the new Premier League season is looming, which makes losing a player even more difficult to deal with.

But the signs are potentially ominous – if Harrison is indeed interested in moving to St James’ Park. Newcastle are not hanging around if they have made a £25 million bid.

They are not too far from meeting Leeds’ asking price. And the Whites have seemingly been willing to compromise when a player has wanted to join a certain club.

So the ball is in Newcastle’s court to increase their offer. But clearly, Harrison’s stance on his future could have big implications for how successful the Magpies’ chase proves to be.
