Report: Leeds offered Brazilian magician by English club, decision made

Leeds have been offered the chance to sign Matheus Pereira from West Bromwich Albion. The Brazilian starred for the Baggies last season, despite relegation to the Championship. Leeds have been offered West Brom star Pereira, but they have chosen not to pursue a deal.

Pereira, 25, was sensational for the Baggies – despite a change in manager. Even under Sam Allardyce, he impressed. In 33 Premier League appearances, the pocket-sized Brazilian managed to have a hand in 17 goals, scoring 11 and creating six. He has three years left on his contract.

The Express claim that West Ham, Leicester and Leipzig have all shown interest in Pereira, while Leeds have been offered him. However, Victor Orta has decided not to sign Pereira despite his Premier League form. that West Brom will only sell for £15million this summer.

Are Leeds right to ignore West Brom man Pereira – at £15million?

The Whites are pursuing a deal for Matheus Cunha, Hertha Berlin’s number 10. While he is three years younger than Pereira, he offers very similar attributes to Pereira. The difference is that Pereira is cheaper, and has starred in the Premier League. Cunha is unproven on these shores.

So, are Leeds making a mistake in ignoring Pereira, to spend more on Cunha? Perhaps. But Cunha does promise massive resale value. Pereira, now 25, probably not so much. But there is little between the duo and if Leeds are told to spend £26million on Cunha, amid reports, Pereira is the way to go.
