Report: Leeds know Ramsay is likely to choose to join Liverpool
Leeds United know that there is a high likelihood of Calvin Ramsay choosing to join Liverpool ahead of them this summer, .
Victor Orta has come in for criticism during his time at Elland Road. And it is fair to say that a number of his first-team signings have proved to be disappointments. However, he has done some brilliant work bolstering Leeds’ under-23 ranks.
The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville have all arrived from elsewhere and are now in and around the senior fold at Elland Road.
So there may have been optimism amongst Leeds fans that they may be able to secure Ramsay’s signature. Reports claimed that they have been battling the likes of Liverpool and Spurs for the Aberdeen teenager.
However, Leeds are not too hopeful about their chances of a deal, it seems. that the Whites know that there is a very good chance that Ramsay will choose to join the Reds over them.
High likelihood of Ramsay choosing to join Liverpool
It would be a blow to miss out on signing Ramsay. He has been described as an ‘‘ talent. And clearly, the list of clubs chasing his signature says a lot about his potential.
Leeds need to strengthen at right-back this summer. Luke Ayling had a difficult year and struggled with injury. And Stuart Dallas is set to be sidelined for some time.
They do have other options. Jamie Shackleton and Robin Koch have both played there. And Cody Drameh is set to return from his loan spell at Cardiff City.
It may have been somewhat ominous for Drameh and Shackleton had Ramsay joined. But it seems that Leeds are starting to think that they may be fighting a losing battle anyway.
