Report: Leeds have made offer to sign free agent Edinson Cavani
that Leeds United have initiated talks with free agent Edinson Cavani in the past few hours in a bid to engineer a spectacular move and lure the veteran to Elland Road.
Cavani, 33, is looking for a new home after he was released by Paris Saint-Germain. The 116-time Uruguay international had fallen down the pecking order at PSG – following the signing of Mauro Icardi.
He has been linked with clubs such as Inter Milan. But owner Andrea Radrizzani was quoted this week : “we’ve certainly thought about him and we’ll see, given he’s still available on a free transfer.”
Now, just hours after Leeds celebrated their title-winning campaign with a 4-0 win over Charlton, they are believed to have made contact with Cavani in order to secure one of the most surprising moves of the window.
– a fan-based site covering Inter Milan, claim he wants as much as £210,000 a week at his next club. Despite that, it is believed he is willing to listen to Leeds and is open to joining Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

TBR’s view – Yes, you read that right…
There was always going to be rumours following Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League. A club of their magnitude, combined with the following Bielsa has in Spain and South America, means stories will fly off the shelves.
But for the owner to suggest that they could consider a move to sign Cavani – and then for a reputable site such as ESPN to claim talks have begun and the player is keen on a move, is certainly intriguing.
For Leeds fans, they will be hoping there is no smoke without fire.
