Report: Leeds have identified the new Klich, role footage already prepared for him

Leeds United tried their luck signing Brenden Aaronson in the January transfer window, but to no avail.

However, the Whites will try again for the Red Bull Salzburg midfielder in the summer, according to .

Leeds first attempted to sign Aaronson with an initial £15million bid, before upping their offer to £20million.

However, Salzburg held firm – unsurprising really, given how much is at stake for them this season.

The Austrians are on course for a ninth straight league title and will also contest the Champions League knockouts.

Nonetheless, Salzburg are well known for producing gems and selling them on for profit.

At the end of the season, they are likely to be more open to fielding approaches for Aaronson.

The Athletic also shed light into how much work Leeds have done in identifying the 21-year-old as a top target.

Leeds reportedly sought references about him, some from coaches who have worked with him in the past.

Indeed, the Whites even prepared footage for Aaronson in the event he arrived at Elland Road.

When negotiating with Robin Koch, for example, Leeds used video footage to outline how he’d drop into the line-up.

It covers all bases – what a player’s role will be, what responsibilities that will entail and how their performances for their existing club compare or contrast with Bielsa’s way.

And The Athletic claims Leeds see “clear shades of Mateusz Klich” in Aaronson.

Best of all, the United States talent is reportedly keen on a move too.

So, even though Leeds couldn’t get this deal over the line in January, there’s a good chance it could happen in the summer.
