Report: Leeds eyeing £11m attacker currently on loan at Galatasaray
that Leeds United are interested in signing Celta Vigo attacker Emre Mor, who is currently struggling for form on loan at Leeds’ bitter enemies Galatasaray – and is expected to return to his parent club this month.
Mor, 22, has already had a somewhat colourful career. A Turkey international but born in Denmark, he began his career with top-tier Danish side FC Nordsjaelland before earning a move to Borussia Dortmund – where he played 19 times.
But a breakdown in the reltionship with then-manager Thomas Tuchel saw him shipped out to Celta Vigo for £11million (). But just 39 appearances later and turning up to training late, the Turkey cap is now on loan at Galatasaray.
Galatasaray became Leeds’ bitterest of enemies after two Whites fans – Kevin Speight and Christopher Loftus – were stabbed before the 2000 UEFA Cup semi-final. Harry Kewell has since played for Gala, and is known as ‘Judas’ to Leeds supporters.
Nevertheless, Leeds are interested in Mor – who is only on loan at the Champions League club. Naturally a winger or a number 10, he has failed to score or provide an assist in 16 outings. Leeds are keen, but the board are wary of fans’ reaction.

TBR’s view – Mor had enormous potential, but it is currently languishing
Moving to Dortmund aged just 18, Mor had the world at his feet. Fast forward nearly five years, and he is struggling for a side that should be dominating in Turkey’s top tier. Mor needs a move where he can finally get back on track.
Elland Road should not be that place. With the history between the two clubs, Leeds fans would take an enormous amount of winning over to get behind Mor. If he shines and has a hand in 15 goals between now and the summer, then fine.
But the chances of Mor doing that are slim – given his decline and lack of understanding of British football. Yes, he has the potential to become a top, top siging, but Leeds should avoid landing the 15-time international.
