Report: Leeds enter bidding war for £20m striker Ben Brereton Diaz
Leeds United have now joined the bidding war for Ben Brereton Diaz, that Blackburn Rovers want £20 million for the striker this summer.
Brereton Diaz has enjoyed a remarkable 13 months. He, of course, made his debut for Chile in last year’s Copa America. And he went on to enjoy an amazing campaign in the Championship with Blackburn.

The 23-year-old ended the season with 22 goals in 37 games at Ewood Park.
Blackburn have been left in a difficult position. . And with that, they will have to decide whether to cash in this summer, or keep him for the coming campaign.

It certainly appears that they are prepared to keep him if they do not receive a considerable sum. The Sun suggests that Blackburn want £20 million for the forward.
There is plenty of interest. that Sevilla, Real Betis and Valencia all want to take Brereton Diaz to Spain. But it is also claimed that Leeds are amongst the teams to have entered the bidding war.

It does appear that Leeds’ priority right now is to sign a new striker. They have been linked with Charles De Ketelaere and Arnaud Kalimuendo.
Brereton Diaz is yet to prove himself at the top level. But obviously, he will not need to adapt to playing in England like the other two.
Tony Mowbray said that Brereton Diaz was ‘‘ during his time in charge. And he does appear to have stepped up his game over the last year.
It is a lot to pay for a player whose deal in the second tier expires next summer. But Leeds absolutely need a striker. So it will be interesting to see what they are willing to pay.
