Report: Leeds United don’t want 51-year-old manager at Elland Road even if they sack Jesse Marsch

Leeds United don’t want former Burnley boss Sean Dyche at Elland Road even if they sack Jesse Marsch, .

The pressure on Marsch seems to be mounting after a poor run of results. Leeds are without a win since August, when they beat Chelsea 3-0 at Elland Road.

Marsch’s men got off to a really promising start to the new season as they picked up two wins out of their first three games.

The American boss has only managed to earn two points in their last eight games. If he doesn’t manage to turn things around soon, Marsch could be facing the sack after only being appointed in March.

But it seems that Leeds will not be replacing their current boss with Dyche anytime soon.

Leeds don’t want Dyche

The Mail reports that Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are currently scanning the landscape for potential replacements.

But the pair don’t currently see a lot of managers that represent an upgrade on Marsch. And a short-term fix in the form of Dyche is not something that Leeds are currently considering.

Dyche did an excellent job at Turf Moor with limited resources, despite critics over his pragmatic style of play.

The 51-year-old spent over nine years at Burnley and guided the Clarets to promotion in the Premier League twice.

He even propelled them into Europe in 2018, before being dismissed towards the end of last season.

The English boss certainly overachieved at Turf Moor but it would be a drastic change of approach for Leeds to appoint him.

You can see why Radrizzani and Orta want to avoid such a big change so early on in the season.

Marsch, just like former boss Marcelo Bielsa, is renowned for his high energy style of football. Dyche’s more pragmatic approach would probably not be received as well at Elland Road, even if it does help them pick up results.
