Report: Leeds could sanction exit for five players before October 5 deadline

that Leeds United could sanction the exit of five players before October 5’s deadline including two first-team stars, while out-of-favour trio Ouasim Buoy, Jay-Roy Grot and Conor Shaughnessy could also be offloaded.

The Whites have made a stunning start to life back in the Premier League after 16 years. Wins over Sheffield United and Fulham came after a brave 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, while the work in the transfer window has excited supporters.

Rodrigo, Diego Llorente and Robin Koch have been signed while one or two big-money additions could still be made. Rodrigo De Paul, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Teun Koopmeiners, Todd Cantwell, Dan James and Michael Cuisance are targets ().

But the Whites obviously need to make space. Kiko Casilla has lost his place in the side to Illan Meslier and he could go, while Barry Douglas is in the final year of his contract. They could leave, as could Buoy, Grot and Shaughnessy.

TBR’s view – Douglas hard done by, but move may be necessary

Though Marcelo Bielsa recently claimed he wants Douglas to stay, the one-time Scotland international is in the final year of his contract at Leeds. Realistically, he is not going to play ahead of Stuart Dallas – so a move could materialise.

Casilla’s time at Elland Road has been tumultuous and given he is one of the club’s highest earners on £32,000-a-week (), a move would surely be engineered if a club comes in. For Buoy, Grot and Shaugnessy, the writing is on the wall.
