Report: Leeds could reignite move to sign 25-year-old in January, £30m release clause

that Leeds United could reignite a move to sign Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez in January – alongside Inter Milan.

Nandez, 25, has been excellent for Cagliari over the last couple of years – joining the club in the summer of 2019. He has since played 75 times.

A 44-time Uruguay international, Nandez was pivotal in Cagliari’s fight against relegation last term. His performances have caught the eye, though.

that Nandez has a £30million release clause in his contract. But no-one wanted to pay that this summer for Nandez.

Leeds, though, needed a midfielder and although they spent big on Daniel James – they have failed to fill the void in the middle of the park.

Nandez to Leeds: Current form might tempt Radrizzani in January

Leeds have been poor to begin with. Just two points from four games have included heavy defeats to Manchester United and Liverpool.

An alarming fact is that Marcelo Bielsa would not be able to tell you who his starting two midfielders are. It has disrupted to the flow of Leeds.

Stuart Dallas is now first choice, with Mateusz Klich, Rodrigo and Tyler Roberts battling to partner him. Dallas himself is naturally a winger.

Leeds need a midfielder and Nandez is a much better option than other linked players, including Curtis Jones and Lewis O’Brien.

But at £30million? Leeds would be better off bringing in someone on loan in January – if they are to even make a signing,
