Report: Leeds cool transfer interest in seven-assist left-back as Whites are offered £20m international
Leeds United director of football Victor Orta has cooled his interest in signing left-back Romain Perraud in the transfer window, .
Perraud has long been linked with a potential move to Elland Road. It was reported in January that Leeds wanted the Brest youngster.

At the time, that both the Whites and Southampton had made contact with the Ligue 1 side about a potential move for the defender.
Meanwhile in March, Leeds were once again . On that occasion, it was suggested that Celtic had also entered the race.
More recently, it was reported that Southampton were closing in on an agreement for Perraud.

That may have surprised some of the Leeds fans amid their need for a new left-back this summer.
, the reason Leeds are no longer being heavily linked is down to the Whites themselves.
According to the report, Orta’s interest in Perraud has cooled. It is noted that they have been offered £20 million-rated Lyon man Maxwel Cornet.
Southampton will hope Leeds are made to rue Perraud decision as left-back transfer race nears conclusion
Judging by the various reports, the Saints look set to be the ones to win the race for Perraud’s signature.
So Leeds fans may soon receive fairly regular reminders of the decision the club made to back away from their interest.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side will hope that they are made to rue not pursuing Perraud.
He provided seven assists in Ligue 1 this past season. Just 10 players in the division managed more.
Leeds have had success when signing players from France in recent years. Both Illan Meslier and Raphinha have been revelations at Elland Road.
So it is a surprise that Orta apparently does not want Perraud. Next season may well show whether that is a smart decision or not.
