that Leeds, Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton are all interested in the Wales international. And they have now been told to make their offers.

Could change of plans for Dan James prove to be opening Leeds were waiting for?

It has been a quiet window at Elland Road. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have only made a couple of marquee signings – and one of those was the permanent deal for Jack Harrison.

The majority of their business has seen their under-23 ranks strengthened.

Bielsa that the Whites are likely done for this window. But Leeds fans know that Victor Orta does not shut the door until the last minute in case a target’s situation changes at the death.

That has now happened with James. And, as The Sun notes, came incredibly close to joining Leeds in 2019. Of course, that was several months before he moved to the other side of the Pennines.

They will seemingly face competition if they do make a late offer. Everton and Palace have reportedly made enquiries in this window. But there does appear to be an opportunity.

And surely Leeds will not let the deadline pass without considering a last-gasp move.
