Report: Leeds and Aston Villa want Nottingham Forest star, Wilder has made a bid

that both Leeds United and Aston Villa are interested in raiding Nottingham Forest for right-back Matty Cash this summer – while Sheffield United have tabled an offer for Cash.

Cash, 23, has been in excellent form after making the right-back slot his own under Sabri Lamouchi. Missing just four Championship matchen, Cash had a hand in eight goals from right-back – scoring three and creating five.

The report claims that Sheffield United have tabled an offer worth £10million to sign Cash, but that is believed to be below the right-back’s valuation. Forest want at least £15million for Cash.

As the Blades struggle to reach his asking price, and both Leeds and Villa have joined the race to sign the versatile ace – who can play out wide too. After 141 Forest appearances, his time at the City Ground could be coming to an end.

TBR’s view – Cash would be an excellent signing, but for who?

Leeds boast Luke Ayling and the chances of the former Arsenal and Bristol City man being replaced looks unlikely. A crucial member of the side, he is not deemed a weakness and is expected to start come September 12.

Villa, meanwhile, have struggled on the right side of the defence with Frederic Guilbert proving somewhat indifferent in the Premier League. Cash could be ideal at Villa Park. He has a contract until the summer of 2023.
