Report: Lazio optimistic of deal for Arsenal target Julian Brandt
Lazio have great optimism that they can win the race to sign Julian Brandt, – in news that may prove a disappointment for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
Brandt looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer. And the Gunners had seemingly put themselves in the race.

Arteta, of course, is looking to add greater attacking quality. As things stand, loanee Martin Odegaard is set to be back at Real Madrid next season.
It was recently claimed that Brandt was a target for the Gunners. Dortmund are prepared to let him leave Westfalenstadion.

However, it has been apparent for some time that they face competition. And that competition is coming from a manager linked with Arsenal earlier this summer.
Maurizio Sarri was a reported target for the Gunners earlier this year. But he now finds himself at Lazio. And he is seemingly working on scuppering Arsenal’s hopes of signing the 25-year-old.
, the Biancocelesti are optimistic about signing Brandt. It is claimed they are working towards a loan deal.
Initially, Lazio could pay up to £3.4 million for Brandt. They will have the option to buy.
However, should they reach the Champions League, the option will become an obligation.
Will Arsenal act with Lazio optimistic over Brandt?
After loaning Odegaard last season, it will be interesting to see whether they are now open to another temporary deal in their search for his replacement.
Admittedly, a host of targets on Monday. There was no mention of Brandt. That would perhaps suggest that he may not be a serious option.
But perhaps, Lazio’s optimism could spur them into action. It appears that they are closing in on a deal.
A loan move comes with little risk. And Arsenal would potentially be landing a Germany international with 40 Bundesliga goals.
If they do want him however, they may now need to move fast.
