Report: Lazio considering move for Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama
Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama could be offered a late escape from the club this month by Italian side Lazio. has reported that the Serie A club are interested in making a move for him before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The defensive-minded midfielder, who joined the club for £11m from Southampton in 2016 (), has found opportunities hard to come by under new boss Jose Mourinho. It seems like a matter of where and when, not if he will move on from the North London club. He has made just two appearances this season and is only getting further down the pecking order as Tottenham make more additions.

Former club Celtic have also been linked with his signature () but a move to Italy could now be on the cards. Lazio are currently sat third in the Italian league and recently let go of Valon Berisha to Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan until the end of the season.
This leaves them a midfielder short and they may see Wanyama as the perfect player to fill that hole. He has made 97 appearances during his time at Tottenham and scored seven goals along the way. He has had some great moments with the club, including the memorable rocket against Liverpool in 2018.

However, his time to move on is now and it would be better for all parties if the Kenya international seeks a new challenge. Daniel Levy is unlikely to expect much for the midfielder and a move could materialise before the window slams shut.
