West Ham are likely to pursue other targets as they look to strengthen their defence that Kurt Zouma has rejected the chance to join the Hammers this summer.
The Irons had been discussing a move for the France international with Chelsea as David Moyes’s side prepare for their Europa League campaign this coming season.

The two sides had not yet agreed a fee. However, it appears that talks are unlikely to continue.
That is because Zouma has apparently indicated that he does not want to move to the London Stadium.
West Ham may see Zouma decision as blessing in disguise amid Chelsea’s valuation
West Ham need to strengthen their defence. But it appears that convincing the 26-year-old to join may not have been the only hurdle.
, Chelsea value Zouma at £30 million. Perhaps the Irons would have been willing to pay that.

But given that he is lower down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, it is not hard to imagine the Hammers being reluctant to meet that figure.
So his decision may ultimately save all parties a lot of time. West Ham can focus their attention elsewhere.
History repeating itself for Moyes’s men
Zouma would not be the first Chelsea defender to reject West Ham in the last 12 months.
It was claimed last October that Antonio Rudiger had made the same decision when the Irons came calling.
West Ham certainly bounced back from that setback. And they will be hoping to respond in a similar manner to Zouma’s reported decision.
