And it seems that another of their targets could possibly head elsewhere.

Reports this week claimed that Kostic was keen on a move to the London Stadium. The Eintracht Frankfurt star is attracting plenty of attention as he has just entered the final year of his contract.

The Hammers are in talks with his club. that they have now made a bid worth £12.6 million plus add-ons.

However, Juventus have now stepped up their interest in the 29-year-old. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that they opened discussions with Frankfurt on Wednesday. And they have now overtaken West Ham in the race to sign Kostic.

Juventus overtake West Ham in Kostic race

Kostic has been a superb performer in recent years. Of course, West Ham know plenty about him after their semi-final clash in the Europa League last season.

In total, he scored seven goals and contributed 15 assists across 42 games in the Bundesliga and Europa League during the campaign.

So it would be a really exciting move if West Ham could bring the Serbia international to the London Stadium.

However, turning down Juve may be difficult. Kostic has probably got one significant move left in his career. And a move to Turin is more likely to see him challenging for honours.

He is an ‘‘ player. So some West Ham fans will hope that there is still time to spring a surprise and win the race.
