that Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum ahead of the summer window, with the Dutch ace’s contract set to expire at the end of June.
Wijnaldum, 30, remains a key figure of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side – having clocked up a whopping 49 appearances in all competitions this season. But his contract has not been renewed, with numerous clubs linked.
Barcelona have been repeatedly linked, while the likes of Inter Milan and plenty of others are said to be looking to lure the 73-time international away from Anfield. Now, Mourinho and Roma are said to be interested.
Mourinho is set to replace Paulo Fonseca at Roma this summer having penned a three-year deal – and is being linked with a whole host of Premier League players. The latest is Wijnaldum, with a free transfer a possibility.

TBR’s view – Roma surely have little chance in Wijnaldum move
Roma will finish in seventh if they avoid defeat in their final Serie A game of the season but that might not be enough to secure European football next term. Without Europe, then, surely Wijnaldum will ignore Roma’s advances.
A player of his quality should be playing in at least the Europa League and one of the competition’s bigger clubs at that. The likes of Inter or Barcelona are certainly much more likely to nab the ex-Newcastle United star.
