Report: Jose Mourinho wants around £5m for Everton’s on-loan star Robin Olsen
that Everton could complete a permanent deal for goalkeeper Robin Olsen for as little as £4.3million this summer – with Jose Mourinho keen to offload the Swede and for a bargain price.
Olsen, 31, joined Everton on loan from Roma having managed just 35 appearances in two seasons for the Serie A club. He has since played back-up to Jordan Pickford for the majority of the season – clocking up 11 appearances for the Merseyside club.
During those 11 games, the Swedish giant has struggled – conceding 16 goals in 11 and keeping just three clean sheets. But he seems happy to remain at Everton as the club’s second choice with Pickford’s form picking up in the second half of the season.
The report states that Mourinho was willing to cash in on Olsen, and is open to selling the player for a bargain figure between £4.3million and £5.2million. He has a contract at Roma until the summer of 2023.

TBR’s view – Olsen is a bargain at that price
A no-brainer for Everton. Olsen is a very good goalkeeper, enormously experienced at both club and international level – boasting 42 caps for Sweden. Everton need a good back-up goalkeeper and that is because Pickford is so inconsistent.
Should a club have a goalkeeper that is supremely consistent, then the need for cover is not so great – Liverpool for example. But Pickford needs a kick up the backside here and there, and Olsen gives Pickford that. He needs to be signed.
