Report: Jose Mourinho wants another Wolves player, one that he tried to sign during his stint as Tottenham boss
that Roma manager Jose Mourinho is looking to the Premier League for another player, and another Wolverhampton Wanderers star in winger Daniel Podence with the report claiming he tried to sign Podence while at Tottenham.
Podence, 25, has endured a very difficult season. Coinciding with a tricky Wolves campaign, Portugal international Podence has only managed 24 Premier League appearances this season scoring just three goals. Numerous muscle injuries, and then groin surgery, did not help.
But Mourinho is clearly an admirer. One of the club’s Portuguese contingent, Jorge Mendes is likely to be involved should Mourinho look to take the ex-Olympiacos ace to Roma. Mourinho has also been linked with Rui Patricio and Ruben Neves, even before he becomes Roma manager.

TBR’s view Podence good, but stats need mass improvement
The pocket-sized winger is capable of magic. He can run with the ball, he can produce trickery, he can score goals and he can create them but he has not done enough so far in his Wolves stint. Just eight goal involvements in 38 Wolves outings is poor for a player that cost £17million (.
Certainly, Tottenham boast the likes of Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale, Steven Bergwijn and more and it is hard to see how Podence overtakes any of those players. Perhaps under the guidance of Mourinho, a stint at Roma might bring the best out of the Wolves number 10.
