Report: Jose Mourinho is considering shock move to sign Arsenal favourite, could cost as much as £45million

that Jose Mourinho is exploring the possibility of signing Arsenal fan favourite Bukayo Saka. The England Euro 2020 star has immediately become integral to Mikel Arteta’s side. It is claimed that Mourinho wants him, with £45million needed.

Saka, 19, has been sensational for Arsenal over the past 12 months. Having broken into the team a year beforehand, his 2020-21 form reached new levels – and it is clear he is only getting better. Despite playing in numerous positions, the England star still managed to have a hand in 17 goals.

He is young, he is massively talented, and he is shining for England this summer. But the chances of Arsenal selling him are zero. Nevertheless, Mourinho – who has since joined Roma after leaving Tottenham – wants Saka. The report, bizzarrely, claims Arsenal want £45million for Saka.

No chance: Roma and Mourinho struggling to get Xhaka, let alone Arsenal sensation Saka

Granit Xhaka is expected to join Mourinho at Roma, with a fee of around £13million being discussed. But that is more than three times less the fee that Arsenal are – supposedly – requesting for Saka. While Arsenal’s board have frustrated fans, you would like to think that Saka will be kept.

Roma have no chance of keeping him. Indeed, Saka will only leave Arsenal if the real top-level clubs come in for him – and with a much bigger price of £45million. Saka needs to keep doing what he is doing. A move might be on the horizon in a few years, but game time at Arsenal is what he needs.
