Report: Joachim Andersen in London for medical at Fulham

Lyon defender Joachim Andersen is on his way to London to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Fulham,

The 24-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Lyon and a loan move to Fulham will allow him to play regular football.

Andersen signed for the Ligue 1 outfit from Sampdoria in 2019, costing the Italian club

The deal which will see him arrive in West London is likely to be a loan with a view to making it permanent at the end of the season.

Fulham’s start to the season has prompted them into scouring the market for central defensive options.

They have lost every league game they have played conceding 11 goals in the process.

Yesterday they were beaten 1-0 by Wolves in a performance that in truth, was vastly improved.

Andersen is 6ft 2in and is considered as a ball-playing centre-back.

During his time at Lyon, he made 32 appearances, scoring twice and has also played three times during 2020/21.

reported that the defender was high on Tottenham’s shortlist, although he eventually chose to sign for Lyon instead.
