Report: Jesse Marsch has fully promoted 19-year-old Leeds youngster to senior squad, he’s ‘top drawer’
Leeds United’s Premier League campaign restarts in just a few days’ time.
Jesse Marsch has had plenty of time to work with his squad during the mid-season break.
The squad were supposed to travel to the United States as part of a mid-season tour.
However, in the end they opted for a training camp in Spain, where Marsch included a number of youngsters in the group.
The American hasn’t been afraid to throw them into first-team action when needed this season.
The likes of Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto have already impressed at Elland Road.
However, that forward Mateo Joseph has now been promoted to Leeds’ senior squad in training.
It’s an appropriate award for a player who has been in sensational form for the under-21 side.
The number 49 already has 11 goals in Premier League 2 from just eight appearances.

Joseph made his senior debut against Wolves in the Carabao Cup last month, alongside Sonny Perkins and Darko Gyabi.
He was then rewarded with a Premier League debut just before the World Cup break.
The 19-year-old came off the bench in the final moments with Leeds chasing a late equaliser against Tottenham.
It’s no surprise to see Joseph promoted to the senior squad at Leeds already.
At other clubs, a loan move away might be the best option for a player in Joseph’s position.
However, Marsch has not shied away from giving young players a chance if they’re performing well in training.
Joseph faces plenty of competition to be Leeds’s top attacking prospect.
If he can establish himself in the side, he could quickly become a fan favourite with his exciting style of play.
