Report: Jack Clarke expected to be recalled by Tottenham in January, unhappy at Leeds
that Jack Clarke is set to have his season-long loan spell at Leeds United cancelled in January by parent club Tottenham Hotspur as he continually struggles to get any game time at Elland Road.
Clarke, 18, broke into the Leeds side last season under Marcelo Bielsa last season and clocked up 25 appearances. He scored against Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, and laid on crucial assists against Swansea City and Sheffield United.
However, this time around, he has been limited to just two Carabao Cup appearances. Indeed, Clarke is struggling to make the Leeds bench, following his £10million move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Clarke is said to be unhappy at Elland Road, with the EFL’s loan rules preventing him from making the 18-man squad for Championship matches. Helder Costa, Ben White, Illan Meslier, Eddie Nketiah and Jack Harrison are also on loan.
Only five loanees can be included in the 18-man squad, and Clarke is the unfortunate absentee.

TBR’s view – Clarke needs to be recalled, but join another team on loan
Tottenham fans are becoming increasingly disgruntled at Clarke being left out of the Leeds squad, but it must be remembered that the winger is still very young – and unfortunately he is not as good as the likes of Harrison, Costa and Pablo Hernandez.
A player is able to play for two sides in a season, even if one of those sides is not his parent club. That means Clarke is able to join another team on loan in January if recalled – and another Championship team may be able to give him game time.
