Report: Inter Milan planning player-plus-cash deal for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

that Antonio Conte’s side are planning a player-plus-cash deal to sign Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in a move that would see Ivan Perisic move to north London.

Aubameyang’s future is up in the air at the moment, as he looks set to enter the final 12 months of his current contract at the end of the season. Barcelona have been strongly linked with the striker, but Inter are also reportedly eyeing the Gabonese ace.

The former AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund star has continued his stunning form, scoring 17 goals in 25 Premier League games. But Arsenal may even fail to qualify for Europe this season, let alone the Champions League.

Inter are keen to bring him to Italy and as per the report, it is believed they will offer cash plus 31-year-old winger Perisic – who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. Perisic has struggled at Bayern, scoring only five goals in 22 outings.

The report claims he is likely to return to Inter Milan this summer, rather than a permanent £17million move to Bayern – given Bayern want to sign Kai Havertz and Leroy Sane. Inter want rid of Perisic, and they are ready to offer him to Arsenal.

TBR’s view – Do Arsenal need Perisic?

The Gunners were heavily linked with Perisic 12 months ago, they made a loan-to-buy offer. Fast forward just over 12 months, and signing Perisic would be a backwards step.

The emergence of Bukayo Saka, the signing of Nicolas Pepe and the versatility of Gabriel Martinelli means Arsenal are not only well-stocked out wide, but have young talent breaking into the side.

The Gunners will not want to lose Aubameyang this summer, but signing Perisic in return would be even worse.
