Report: Inter Milan eye Eriksen-like deal for Liverpool midfielder
that Inter Milan are looking to complete a Christian Eriksen-style deal to lure Liverpool’s Gini Wijnaldum to the San Siro for a cut-price figure in the January transfer window.
Eriksen, 28, joined Inter Milan in January 2020 and while the 103-time Denmark international has struggled during his time under Antonio Conte – the set-piece specialist was bought for a bargain figure of just £17million ().
Now, Inter are looking to secure a similar move for Wijnaldum. Chief Executive Giuseppe Marotta is keen on a move to bring Wijnaldum, 30, to the Nerrazzuri but want a move in January – despite his contract ending next summer.
It means that while Inter would have to pay to sign Wijnaldum, they could get the Dutchman for a cheaper fee. It is believed Inter can land the ex-Newcastle midfielder for a bargain £13.75million.

TBR’s view – Wijnaldum would be a bargain at that fee
Surely Liverpool cannot accept. In the first half of the season, the midfielder has starred for Liverpool. His experience has been crucial, especially with Fabinho dropping into defence and Thiago sidelined through injury.
With Liverpool looking to retain their Premier League title, Wijnaldum is key to that. There is still talk that Wijnaldum could sign a new deal – so for any fee in the world, Liverpool have got to reject.
Even if it means Wijnaldum leaves on a free at the end of the season, the Reds must keep him and ignore Inter’s advances. Whether the midfielder could be tempted remains to be seen, with Inter sitting in second.
