Report: ‘Incredible’ player now faces leaving on a free transfer next year, just months after rejecting Tottenham move

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore is now heading into the final year of his contract and .

The 26-year-old spent the second-half of last season on loan at Barcelona after reportedly rejecting a ‘life-changing’ offer from Tottenham Hotspur.

Traore has been described as ‘incredible’ but he now faces running down his contract at Wolves after an underwhelming spell at Barca.

Traore most likely to leave Wolves on a free transfer

Wolves would have preferred to sell the player during the current window in order to get a fee for the Spanish winger.

But there have been no offers and hardly any interest in Traore so far this summer and it’s not what the player and Wolves wanted. 

The Spain international is also struggling with a hamstring injury currently and may be ruled out for the start of the Premier League season, which isn’t helping the lack of interest in the player.

Traore may be wishing he took Spurs’ ‘life-changing’ offer

Traore made a decent start to his career at Barca and actually put up two assists in his first two La Liga games.

But after that, he didn’t manage a single goal involvement for Xavi’s side and was in-and-out of the first-team.

After the unsuccessful loan spell in Catalonia, he may be wishing he joined Antonio Conte’s Spurs in January instead.

But the Wolves man opted to join Barcelona instead and now he faces the prospect of running his contract down at Molineux due to an apparent lack of interest in the player.

But now Tottenham have signed Djed Spence from Middlesbrough and the Italian has three right wing-backs in his current squad.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs will make another move for Traore during the current window but as things stand, the winger will be playing his football in Wolverhampton this season.
