Report: Increasing doubts Skipp will return for Tottenham this weekend

that there is some uncertainty behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur surrounding when Oliver Skipp will be able to return from a thigh injury.

Skipp has been outstanding for Spurs this season. He quickly established himself as a key man during Nuno Espirito Santo’s ill-fated tenure. And he continued to keep himself in the fold under Antonio Conte.

Remarkably, Tottenham have not conceded a league goal when Skipp has been on the pitch at the same time as Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. However, it has been a little while since the trio were involved together.

Skipp has not featured in any of Tottenham’s last three games due to a thigh injury.

And unfortunately, it would appear that his recovery may not be going entirely to plan.

that his comeback has been delayed. And Spurs are not optimistic that he will be involved against Manchester City this weekend.

It is claimed that there is some uncertainty amongst those at Tottenham regarding when Skipp will be ready to return.

Skipp absence a big blow for Tottenham following difficult run of form

Tottenham did strengthen in January. And Rodrigo Bentancur looks to have made a bright start to life at Spurs. But not having Skipp has seemingly hurt Antonio Conte’s side of late.

He is a player some at Tottenham believe has the potential to be a future captain. Some of his performances this season have been labelled ‘excellent‘.

And Tottenham are reaching a pivotal moment in their campaign. They have now lost their last three in the Premier League. And they have squandered their pole position in the race for the top-four.

Unfortunately, their task is not going to get any easier. They face the champions next. And away trips to Burnley and Leeds could also be tricky – for different reasons.

Not having Skipp for those games would be a real setback.
