Report: How Christian Purslow actually feels about sacking Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa right now
Steven Gerrard is not in immediate danger of getting sacked by Aston Villa due to continued support from Christian Purslow.
The report that Purslow is as invested as Gerrard in making the managerial appointment work at Villa Park.
But Villa went down 1-0 to West Ham on Sunday, with the fans showing their discontent and the next two games are tricky for Gerrard.
Arsenal and Manchester City lie in wait for Gerrard by the end of the week and two defeats there may test the resolve of Purslow.

Gerrard not in immediate danger of getting sacked by Villa
The report says that even two losses there should see Gerrard keep his job but asks how long the faith of club’s owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens will hold.
Villa spent big in the summer and want to see Gerrard push the club towards the upper reaches of the Premier League after a disappointing season.
In July, it was reported he had told senior Villa stars he wanted to finish seventh this season, as the ‘best of the rest’ in the top flight.
This is his first managerial role in the Premier League and it was expected that Gerrard would have one eye on the Liverpool job in future.
But to even be considered for Anfield, he needs to shine at Villa Park and that is currently not happening, with discontent to quell now.
Gerrard needs to turn the tide rapidly and the performances in the next two tricky games will show whether the players are still playing for him.
