Report: Highly-rated Liverpool target may not leave until next year – but for £36m cheaper
A player heavily linked with Liverpool in recent months may not look to leave his current club until next January, but for a fee significantly less than the one previously reported for a summer switch, according to German outlet .
England international Jadon Sancho looks set to be one of the most in-demand players in world football in the upcoming transfer window, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea just some of the clubs said to be keen on the Borussia Dortmund winger.
According tp a report from 12 February, Liverpool have informed Jurgen Klopp’s former club of their interest in signing Sancho this summer, and the Bundesliga club is said to be expecting “at least £100million” for the 19-year-old goal machine.
, meanwhile, reported a week later that Dortmund have slapped a £120million price tag on Sancho’s head, but this also pertains to a prospective move at the end of the season.

The report, however, claims that Sancho has not officially told his club that he wants to leave this summer and as such there is a chance he may stay put for the first half of the 2020-21 campaign.
The fee quoted by the German outlet is £84million – £16million less than the minimum price quoted in the Daily Mail and £36million less than the Sky Sports quote.
TBR View:
Sancho’s record since leaving Manchester City speaks for itself – 87 competitive appearances, 30 goals, 40 assists, 11 England caps and two international goals, and all with a month to go before he reaches his twenties ().
Given his impressive credentials, it’s no surprise to see him linked with some of the Premier League’s top teams – and with Liverpool being head and shoulders above every team in the country, he would seem a perfect addition to Klopp’s ranks.
However, the Ruhr Nachrichten report seems a little surprising – wouldn’t it make more sense for Dortmund to start a summer bidding war for Sancho, sell him for a nine-figure fee, and still have time to bring in a replacement and bed him into the team in pre-season rather than sell him for a reportedly much lower amount mid-season?
