Report: Hector Bellerin would consider Arsenal departure this summer

claim that Hector Bellerin is ready to consider an exit from Arsenal in the summer, with several top European clubs ready to pounce for the defender.

The Spain international was linked with a move to PSG last summer and they remain keen on signing the Gunners star.

Barcelona are another club who feel Bellerin can improve their ranks, with the report suggesting that two clubs from Serie A are also ready to move ahead of next season.

The Arsenal man will have just two years on his contract when this season end and now seems like a decent time for the club to cash in.

Bellerin has endured some difficult form during the current campaign and came under-fire for his performance in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Last summer PSG bid £24 million for the Spanish star but the Gunners were holding out for closer to £35 million for the player who was nurtured at the Hale End academy.

Arsenal may well have to cut their cloth accordingly next summer, with Mikel Arteta’s men not guaranteed European football again.

Getting his wage off the budget would be ideal and it will probably be the final chance to get a decent fee for the player.

TBR View: Selling Bellerin makes a lot of sense

As good as Bellerin has been over the years, the last couple of season haven’t been great from his point of view.

He’s spent a lot of time out injured and has subsequently struggled to maintain any real consistency in his performances.

Bellerin has made 231 appearances for the club and at 25 he is still at a decent age to keep continuing his development.

Arteta will want to continue shaping his squad in the summer and that could see some players leave.

If clubs are still interested in Bellerin then it might represent a good time to offload the man with four caps for his country.
