Report: Growing belief Spurs hiring Ryan Mason would appeal to fans
that Ryan Mason is under consideration for the Tottenham Hotspur job on a permanent basis.
Daniel Levy has seemingly not had the best time trying to find Jose Mourinho’s successor. that Julian Nagelsmann was their top target, but he is Bayern Munich-bound.

Meanwhile, that Brendan Rodgers is not interested in the post.
that they have not yet given up on Rodgers. Meanwhile, they are also interested in the likes of Roberto Martinez and Nuno Espirito Santo.

But it appears that Mason’s stock is also rising.
The Sunday Mirror suggests that he is emerging as a genuine contender. And it is claimed that there is a growing belief amongst the Spurs decision-makers that giving Mason the job will appeal to the supporters.
TBR View: Handing Mason job permanently would be a massive gamble from Tottenham
Mason has started life in interim charge reasonably well. Spurs beat Southampton in his first game, and they were agonisingly close to taking the Carabao Cup final to extra-time.
But appointing Mason permanently would surely be a huge gamble. If any players were unhappy working under Mourinho, the 29-year-old was always likely to make a positive impact when he came in.
Even if they end the campaign on a high, there will surely be doubts about whether Mason is the right man for the role. Tottenham have a squad that is more than good enough to go on a good run.
Of course, Mason should be considered if he impresses and their top targets are unavailable. But after arguably moving backwards this year, Spurs surely cannot afford to get the next appointment wrong.
