The former Sheffield United man has been in the headlines this week. Taylor, who helped fire Charlton to promotion last season, has refused to play beyond the end of June for Lee Bowyer’s men.

Rangers have been with a previous interest in the forward. However, according to a new report from the , Turkish giants Galatasaray are now preparing a move for Taylor.

The interest from Turkey could be a blow to Rangers. Charlton manager Bowyer has claimed in recent days that Taylor is on the verge of a huge payday. News, then, of another club – with financial power like Galatasaray – being interested, could well sway Taylor further.

Money could well be the big problem, Rangers may face a fight – TBR View

There is no doubt given Bowyer’s comments recently that Lyle Taylor is out looking for the best deal possible.

Of course, there is nothing wrong with that on his part. Having played most of his career in the lower leagues, he may well deserve to finally earn a big deal.

Rangers, though, face a big task now. Galatasaray have a history of snatching players out of nowhere and this could be another example of that.

Furthermore, a move to Turkey’s biggest club is also attractive, both in terms of money and experience for Taylor.

Steven Gerrard, then, faces a bit of a task now to land his man.
