Report: Four English clubs want Rangers player, likely to have played last game for Ibrox club
that Jordan Jones has emerged as a summer option for four English clubs this summer, with the report claiming the winger has played his last game for Rangers – as he remains on loan at Sunderland.
Jones, 26, joined Rangers in the summer of 2019 but only managed 15 appearances for the Gers in his first season – failing to score. He was sent off against Celtic, and only played four times during the first half of this season.
That lack of game time saw Sunderland move and nine League One games later, the Nothern Ireland international is finally rediscovering the form that tempted Rangers to sign him from Kilmarnock intially. He has five goal involvements in nine games.
Four clubs are said to have opened talks to sign Jones from Rangers, with the belief that he will move on in the summer. Those four sides come from the second-tier of English football – in the form of Stoke, Barnsley, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.

TBR’s view – Jones needs to leave Rangers
There is no doubt that Jones needs game time. He needs regular football to get the best out of him and at Rangers, he simply is not going to get that. Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent, Greg Stewart, Kemar Roofe and others are ahead of him in the pecking order.
A move to the Championship is good for Jones – especially to work under the manager that brought the best out of him at international level, in the form of Michael O’Neill, who is now at Stoke. Middlesbrough is his boyhood club.
Cardiff and Barnsley are also good options, but what is certain, is that Jones needs to leave Rangers permanently.
