Sarri was reportedly expected to move to Roma in wake of Paulo Fonseca’s summer departure, which obviously is no longer the case with Mourinho set to take the reins.

While Sarri may have split opinion during his time at Chelsea, he is highly regarded by a number of his peers.

Mauricio Pochettino, for example, told Radio CRC – as quoted by – in 2018: “Sarri’s football is fantastic and the best to watch in Europe.

“When I can, I try not to miss out on a single Napoli game!”

It remains to be seen whether he’ll return to London with either club, and whether either fanbase would warm to him, but he’s certainly got plenty of experience, not to mention silverware and ability to take a team to the next level as he did with Napoli.
