Report explains why Liverpool have stopped Milot Rashica transfer pursuit

why Liverpool have ended their pursuit of Werder Bremen playmaker Milot Rashica. 

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the Kosovo international in recent months. on Jurgen Klopp’s fondness of the player earlier this year whilston Rashica’s current €38 million (£33.5m) release clause, which could drop to €18 million (£16m) should the struggling side end up being relegated from the Bundesliga.

The report claims that Liverpool no longer see a need for the playmaker after the January signing of Takumi Minamino from Red Bull Salzburg. 

Liverpool paid the Austrian side a£7.25 million to sign the Japanese talent in the winter and believe he and Rashica have similar profiles. Therefore, Rashica is no longer deemed a necessary expense. 

Other Premier League teams are now expected to swarm on Rashica, who has scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 24 games for a struggling Bremen side. 

Liverpool have not yet got to see the best from Minamino but will be hoping the Japanese talent can find his feet at Anfield for next season. 

If that proves the case, then any memory of their interest in Rashica will soon dissipate.
