Report: ‘Exceptional’ player is now one step closer to leaving Arsenal, his agent’s coming to London this week
The agent of Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is due to fly into London to try and tear up the remainder of his Gunners contract.
Spanish outlet say that Bellerin is now one step closer to leaving the Emirates Stadium to join Real Betis as a free agent.
Bellerin spent last season with the Spanish outfit on loan and has been keen to make a permanent move there throughout the summer.
There is willingness on all sides to get the deal done, but the main issue is the difference in the wages Betis can afford compared to Arsenal.

Bellerin agent wants to tear up Arsenal contract
It appears that ripping up his Arsenal contract is the best way to make that happen and his agent is due for talks this week.
Arsenal have been moving on some of their unwanted players and have been prepared to take financial hits to make that happen.
Bellerin has just one more year left on his deal anyway, which means he could leave for free this time next season.

So Arsenal would be running out of chances anyway to get a fee back in for the defender who came through as an academy graduate.
Mikel Arteta has called Bellerin ‘exceptional‘, and clearly retains huge respect for him as a person and a player, but respects his wishes in terms of moving on.
There has been interest from other Spanish clubs but it seems Bellerin has had his heart set on going back to Betis and it is closer to happening now.
