Report: Everton to offer transfer chief Marcel Brands new contract next year
Everton have little worries over their current squad and expiring contracts. Yannick Bolasie, Mo Besic and Matthew Pennington are all free agents next summer, but none of them are currently considered first-team options.
But the Toffees do have one absolutely pivotal figure who is out of contract next summer.
That man is Marcel Brands, the club’s director of football.
The Dutchman has revamped the club’s transfer policy since arriving at Goodison Park from PSV Eindhoven in 2018.

Everton have tried to buy players in their prime, often from top clubs, as evidenced by the arrivals of Lucas Digne, Andre Gomes, Allan, and James Rodriguez under Brands’ stewardship.
He is also a member of the board so is clearly a key figure at Goodison Park.
However, as in line with club policy, theis reporting no talks over an extension are likely until the new year.
The report claims that Everton remain committed to Brands and value the work he has done at the club, so it is expected that a new deal will be offered to their transfer chief.
Everton fans will likely want to see Brands kept on, to give the club continuity and pulling power, clearly on show by the presence of the previously mentioned players and manager Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.
Hopefully, a deal will be just a formality in 2021.
