Report: Everton to hold further talks with ‘fantastic’ 53-year-old manager this week
Everton are holding further talks with Vitor Pereira this week, according to .
The Toffees are looking for a new permanent manager after sacking Rafa Benitez earlier this month.
Everton parted company with the Spaniard after just six-and-a-half months in charge at Goodison Park.

Now, Sky Sports have claimed that Pereira is holding further discussions with the Toffees hierarchy.
This is following an initial meeting with Everton owner Farhad Moshiri this week.
Sky Sports have also reported that the Blues will soon be discussing the role with Frank Lampard.
The report also claims Everton haven’t made contract over Derby’s Wayne Rooney.
While a decision isn’t thought to be imminent, Sky Sports claims one will be made ‘sooner rather than later’.

Pereira a big gamble for Everton – TBR View
Pereira was reportedly a candidate for the Everton manager’s job twice before.
However, the 53-year-old missed out to Roberto Martinez and Marco Silva respectively.
Pereira has over a decade’s experience as a manager and has won eight trophies, including three league titles.
Former Southampton defender Jose Fonte has described him as “really methodical” and “fantastic”.

That said, Pereira would be a big gamble for Moshiri at this moment in time.
His career has mostly been outside of the game’s major leagues.
His only spell in one of Europe’s ‘big five’ was a five-month stint at 1860 Munich that ended with relegation from the German second tier in 2017.
Pereira also left his most recent post, a second spell with Turkish side Fenerbahce last month after just half a season in charge.
