Unsurprisingly, he is attracting plenty of attention.

And according to The Telegraph, Rafa Benitez is a big fan of the 21-year-old. Everton reportedly value him at £25 million.

However, it appears that they would have to offer a lot more to land McNeil. that he could cost as much as double that figure.

It is noted that it is doubtful that the Clarets would consider anything less than £40 million for the youngster.

Meanwhile, The Telegraph adds that Everton believe that Villa are the team in pole position to sign McNeil.

Another statement from Aston Villa if they beat Everton to Dwight McNeil move

Villa have already made a major statement this summer. The deal to sign Emi Buendia saw Dean Smith’s men fly out of the transfer window blocks.

And while a deal looks unlikely, their pursuit of Emile Smith Rowe highlighted that they mean business.

So now signing McNeil would be another impressive move.

He looks to have an incredibly bright future ahead. And with Everton now also in the running, it would be quite something if Villa secured his signature.
