Report: Everton star’s wages may dash West Brom hopes of loan
West Brom’s hopes of taking Cenk Tosun on loan could be scuppered due to the Everton striker’s £100,000-a-week wages, .
Tosun is reportedly keen to secure regular game-time ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
He has made just five substitute appearances for the Toffees in the Premier League this season. And he is attracting attention from elsewhere in the top flight.
, both West Brom and Crystal Palace are keen on Tosun. However, his wages are a big problem.
It is suggested that the Baggies would not be prepared to pay so much for the Turkey international. And Palace would also struggle to meet those demands.
It makes little sense for Everton to do either of their Premier League rivals a favour, unless they have a new signing themselves coming in.
Right now, the Toffees do not have the depth to let Tosun leave Goodison Park on a loan that sees them cover a portion of his wages. He has shown that he can do a job as a backup, so it makes more sense to keep him.
West Brom and Palace may want to keep him on their radar in case Everton do sign another striker later in the month. But it does appear that they would be wise to look elsewhere.
