The Potters kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win that leaves them fourth in the Championship. They have conceded 11 goals. Only three sides boast a better defensive record so far.

Everton eyeing another inspired deal for Championship side’s Australia international

It was 17 years ago that Everton produced a transfer masterstroke by signing Tim Cahill from Millwall.

Cahill went on to make nearly 280 appearances and score 68 goals for the Toffees in all competitions.

So Souttar has a lot to live up to if he becomes the next Australia international to make the step up from the Championship to move to Goodison Park.

The defender actually boasts an amazing record for his country, scoring six goals in his first six appearances.

Obviously, he will not come cheap, particularly if Stoke continue to impress this season.

But should Mina leave, Everton will not be struggling for the funds to pursue a move.
