Report: Everton plot lucrative contract offer for Lewis Dobbin amid growing interest from England and abroad
Everton face a battle to keep promising youngster Lewis Dobbin at the club this summer. According to The Sun on Sunday (9th June, page 61), Everton are planning to offer Dobbin a lucrative new contract to fend off interest.
Dobbin is one of Everton’s most promising academy players. The young striker has been playing for the U18 team at Everton, operating either as a central striker or as a left-winger.
In seven games for Everton in the U18 Premier League last season, Dobbin scored once and provided four assists. But the 16-year-old is playing above his age group and already looking comfortable at U18 level.
This has alerted several other clubs, who want to sign Dobbin. ‘Bigger’ English clubs and sides from abroad both want Dobbin this summer, according to this report by The Sun.
But Everton are planning a big-money contract offer. The Toffees need to spend some serious money to convince the talented teenager to stay at Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, several Everton youth players have been released. that versatile 22-year-old Harry Charsley has been released alongside striker flop Boris Mathis and goalkeeper Mateusz Hewelt.

Danny Bramall, Joe Hilton, Jack Kiersey, Shayne Lavery and Chris Renshaw have also been released. But Bassala Sambou has been offered fresh terms.
