Report: Everton place Ralf Rangnick in frame for vacancy

Everton are keen to appoint Ralf Rangnick as their new boss following Carlo Ancelotti’s shock departure from Goodison Park yesterday.

the ex-RB Leipzig incumbent is under consideration by the Toffees hierarchy.

It is thought that he’s been admired by Everton in the past and could now come into the frame for the job.

Ancelotti’s exit came out of nowhere. He has accepted a return to Real Madrid where he replaces Zinedine Zidane.

Rangnick hasn’t managed since 2019 when he moved upstairs with Leipzig.

He has been a proven incumbent in the Bundesliga, experiencing spells with Hannover, Schalke, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart.

Everton will go in search of a big name to replace Ancelotti, who oversaw a tenth place finish last season.

Erik ten Hag, Rafa Benitez and Nuno Espirito Santo have all been linked to the job so far.

Rangnick won 29 of his 52 games in charge of Leipzig during his final spell as a manager, drawing 13.

He has a win ratio of 47% throughout his career, although a lot of the club’s he’s managed have been relatively small.

Farhad Moshiri must get the next appointment spot on as Everton go in search of European football in the future.

The Toffees need a manager who won’t crumbled under the weight of expectation.

Everton is a proud football club but one that has lost its way badly in recent times.

For the blue half of Liverpool there hasn’t been a deal to shout about and the new boss will need to change that.

Working at a club like Leipzig might actually make Rangnick a good appointment.

They have ambitious ownership and he managed to transform the team into title-chasers who qualified for Europe each season.

That would bode well for Everton and the 62-year-old could prove a very good appointment.
