Report: Everton, Newcastle in £10m race to sign player Gerrard branded ‘fantastic’
that Everton and Newcastle are locked in a £10million race to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall in January – with a figure of £10million required to nab his signature.
Worrall, 24, is a regular for Nottingham Forest and recently surpassed a huge 150 appearances for the club in all competitions. That is despite spending the 2018-19 season on loan at Rangers.

It is believed a fee of around £10million would twist Forest’s arm into selling to one of the Premier League sides. Burnley are also said to be keen, with Sean Dyche a long-term admirer.

Worrall, just days before he joined Rangers on loan, is now deserving of a chance in the Premier League. Forest are in 13th, and do have a chance of the play-offs.
Given he is a Forest player, and Nottingham-born, he might want to see out the season in case he could get to the Premier League with his boyhood club. But Everton and Newcastle will be tempting.
Both sides need a centre-back and certainly on Tyneside, he would not be joining a club to be used as a rotation option – he would be starting under Eddie Howe. But staying at Forest might be his best option.
