Report: Everton launch bid for Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure
Everton are reportedly interested in Watford enforcer Abdoulaye Doucoure.
, the Toffees want to try find a successor to Idrissa Gueye after his exit to Paris Saint-Germain and the Watford midfielder ticks the boxes.
It is understood that Marco Silva’s team have submitted a £27.5million bid for Doucoure.
The report details that the 26-year-old could be tempted into the idea of a fresh move and a switch to Goodison Park.
Doucoure has established himself as a key performer in the Premier League during recent years and should be coming to his peak.
The central midfielder is a powerhouse that offers great defensive cover with his tireless stamina and also his tackling.
He’s also useful going forward, with five goals and six assists in 40 games across all competitions last season for Watford.

TBR’s View:
Fabian Deph’s arrival certainly helped ease the blow of losing Gueye, but in reality Everton need more in the centre of the park if they can get before the window closes.
Doucoure would be an exceptional addition for the Merseyside club and be the ending in the Toffees midfield that Gueye once was.
He’s been such a consistent performer in recent times and has the quality to play for a team in Europe.
The Frenchman would be a potential snip if Everton get him for around £30million, as he’s surely worth more in the current market.
