Roberto Martinez is one of the candidates Everton are considering as they look for their new manager, .
The Toffees are still coming to terms with the surprise news that Carlo Ancelotti has left the club for Real Madrid.
The encouraging news for Everton fans is that the club have wasted little time putting together a list of potential targets.
, they are interested in David Moyes, Frank Lampard, Nuno Espirito Santo, Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche and Vitor Pereira.
But Moyes is not the only former Toffees boss on their radar. The Mirror suggests that they are also keen on Martinez.
The Spaniard, of course, is currently gearing up for Euro 2020 with Belgium.
It has previously been claimed that he is keen to return to club football after this summer’s tournament.
So it would be interesting to see how he would react if Everton came calling.

Martinez spent almost three years on Merseyside. Unfortunately, his tenure ended in hugely disappointing fashion.
He was sacked before the end of his final season with the Toffees. It could be argued that he was a victim of his own early success.
Everton finished fifth in his first year at Goodison Park. But in truth, they rarely got close to replicating that feat in the next couple of years.
Nevertheless, Martinez would arguably be an impressive appointment for Everton if he did return.
And perhaps some previous comments from the 47-year-old hint that he would be open to coming back.

So with the Toffees losing a manager to their former club, perhaps the Everton hierarchy are hoping that they can now orchestrate a return of their own.
