Report: Everton discussed move for free agent after Spurs exit
Everton have discussed making a move for Serge Aurier following his release by Spurs in the summer, .
What’s the story?
Rafa Benitez is reportedly looking at the free agent market to bolster his squad. Of course, the Spaniard has already proved how shrewd he can be in the window.

The likes of Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray have proved to be inspired additions for the Toffees so far.
And it seems that he continues to keep an eye out for what is available.
, Aurier has been discussed by those at Goodison Park.

It must be noted that the report claims that a move for the 28-year-old is not being actively pursued by Everton. But it is interesting that he is on the radar.
Aurier may be worth a punt for Everton
Everton’s squad depth does appear to be a concern. And right-back is certainly one area where they lack options.
Obviously, Seamus Coleman continues to remain a stalwart. But beyond him, Benitez has a number of versatile players he can deploy there.
Aurier would be a more natural fit than players such as Mason Holgate. And he would offer a lot more quality than Jonjoe Kenny.
A free transfer would still be a gamble. He had an incredibly mixed time with Tottenham, making a number of costly mistakes.
It would appear that a deal is not currently in the pipeline. But as the weeks go by and squads get stretched, perhaps it is not a move that Benitez is prepared to rule out altogether.
