Report: Everton boardroom discuss manager who’s ‘hungry’ for PL job, contact already made
Everton are reportedly weighing up a potential move for available manager Rafael Benitez.
, Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri is considering a shock move for the 61-year-old.
It is understood that the ex-Liverpool boss has been discussed at boardroom level by Everton. Additionally, there has been contact between Benitez and Everton to sound out mutual interest.
Benitez lives on Merseyside and is a free agent after his time at Chinese club Dalian Professional came to an end, so a deal shouldn’t be too difficult.
If he ended up at Everton, it would be the first time a manager has been in charge of both clubs on Merseyside. But would there be a backlash from fans?

Benitez a controversial candiate for Everton
If you consider Benitez spent six years in charge at Liverpool, it seems crazy to think he could ever manage their Premier League rivals Everton.
However, stranger things have happened.
Benitez, ignoring the Liverpool history, is someone that should be quite appealing to Everton supporters.
He’s a high-profile manager that has been at so many top clubs in his career. In comparison, plenty of the managers linked with the role at Goodison Park have never won silverware in their careers.
Benitez has won trophies with Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Napoli and Valencia.
It’s getting to a stage now where Everton need to appoint their Carlo Ancelotti successor quickly to give him enough time ahead of next season.
They have a talented squad, but need somebody to help them kick on another level.
