Report: Everton and Newcastle among teams checking on Djed Spence
Everton and Newcastle are among four sides reportedly making regular checks on highly rated Championship defender Djed Spence.
, the Toffees and the Magpies are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old Middlesbrough star, who has impressed at the Riverside Stadium since bursting onto the scene last term.

Spence was supposedly close to leaving the club before Jonathan Woodgate handed him his debut against Charlton Athletic.
Spence has been making a name for himself as an attack-minded right-back, and it seems he has caught the attention of the Premier League.
As well as Everton and Newcastle, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also said to be circling.
His rapid progress and fine form in 2020/21 is understood to have put him on the England U21s radar.
One for Everton to watch?
Although he’s really had a fantastic start to the new season, Everton know that Seamus Coleman is getting older.

The star turned 32 last month and is nearing the end of his career.
Everton will undoubtedly have to look at getting a long-term replacement at some point and Spence’s attacking nature may make him a suitable candidate.
The Toffees do have Jonjoe Kenny who may turn out to be a capable Coleman successor, but Spence is one to keep an eye on.
